
QUESTION - If you were to ask yourself - "what ONE THING determines the level of "success" you'll achieve in your business (practice) and in your life? - How would you answer?...

Bottom Line - Only the POTENTIAL of your business (practice) is determined by your talents, knowledge, commitment and the amount of time and effort you spend trying to grow it. The ACTUAL success of your business (practice) is totally determined by your CONSTRAINTS - yes, CONSTRAINTS.
Saying it Another Way - "The POTENTIAL of my business (practice) is determined by my talents, knowledge, commitment and effort".
- "But the ACTUAL SUCCESS of my business (practice) is determined by my CONSTRAINTS".

Saying it yet Again - "The POTENTIAL growth and profitability of my business (practice) depends on what I put INTO it:
- "The ACTUAL growth and profitability of my enterprise will be determined by the things that LIMIT (or CANCEL) my return on that investment".
- "Only when I ELIMINATE my CONSTRAINTS - the things that "block my path" - will my ACTUAL success rise to the level of my POTENTIAL success!"
Example of 3 Types of CONSTRAINTS to Practice Success:
a) Rational Constraints - errors in your thinking (more on that below)
b) Procedural Constraints - counterproductive work processes / procedures
c) Self-imposed Constraints - necessary conditions and rules that exist only in your mind

Your WHY - Your COMMITMENT - These two factors are critical to your success. Master these two and your future will be very bright. Most people struggle with one, or both, of these - sadly, the consequences are predictable.
a) Your WHY - There is one thing above all else that you need to have firmly positioned inside your heart and mind ==> your WHY. To have success in your Holistic Practice - in life - you need to know ==> your WHY.
Your WHY is the "purpose" behind your actions and your primary motivation for accomplishing your goals or task at hand. Your WHY must be very clear and well defined before you go anywhere with your business / practice. You need total clarity with your WHY or it will be tough to not fail. Your WHY is your reason to stay disciplined and focused on building your practice when times are good and when disaster strikes (and disaster usually does strike - especially in these economic times)!
In any business / practice, you will be constantly tested and you need to keep focused in order to succeed. Having your WHY defined clearly in your mind will be the foundation to your success. If you haven't already done so, you need to find out your own WHY - and define this in your mind - before anything else. Having your WHY is a constant reminder in the back of your mind - pushing you when you meet challenges. We’ve seen too many people in business give up - just short of the finish line. It’s painful to see someone defeat themselves. They defeated themselves because they didn’t have a strong enough WHY to push through all the tough times.

b) Your COMMITMENT - In addition to your WHY for success - you must be "passionate" and "enthusiastic" about your work - and be COMITTED to your practice goals (as a Holistic Practitioner, fortunately, these attributes are usually quite common). A half-hearted commitment will not sustain you during the many challenges that will lie ahead - and your passion must translate into a "labor of love".
Success is never an overnight proposition. You'll need to commit to long-term goals and tackle problems head-on. You'll need to COMMIT yourself to achieving your goal and take consistent ACTION towards achieving it.
Commitment and "persistence" go hand in hand too! If you are committed to something - whether it be a goal, relationship or a cause - you use persistence to support that commitment. Persistence does not guarantee success - in fact, 'misguided' persistence has led to ruined lives. When you COMMIT yourself to something, especially a life purpose, you must realize that there are sacrifices you'll make. We all have just 24 hours in each day - and each minute we spend on our goals - is one less minute we have to spend on other areas of our lives.
Bottom Line - If you want to succeed, you must COMMIT to at least (3) things. First, you must take personal responsibility for your success - only YOU can make you a success - you need to be willing to do the things necessary to succeed. Second, you must set high goals - and then do "whatever it takes" to achieve them. Third, stuff happens - as you go through life, you will encounter many problems and setbacks. You need to react "positively" (with strength and commitment) to the negative stuff and continue to move forward toward your goals.
