Income Diversification - There is nothing worse than having your sole source of income dry up on you - because of an accident, an illness, an unplanned event in your life, etc. - especially in this economy.

Solo Practitioners - As a "self employed" professional - where your income depends on YOU "being there" - you are indeed vulnerable. You may have heard the phrase regarding cash flow:

-- “I would rather have it, and not need it -- than need it, and not have it.”  

More Reality - Many practices are being squeezed in the middle these days. In the United States, reimbursement is being reduced for conventional medical practices. The 'Wellness Center' - Here's one option that's helping many Holistic providers. More and more practitioners are embracing this concept as an attractive way to diversify, and to generate (welcome) additional practice income - sometimes passive.

Wellness Centers can take on many different shapes and sizes - some are very simple - others are more complex. Some practices are developing their Wellness Centers with more practitioners - others with more products / services, etc.

Utilizing the Wellness Center idea helps your patients in many ways and it educates them on "preventive" wellness and "alternative" options for lifestyle management and longevity. The focus is on the whole person, with expert guidance from the practitioners and the staff. And because of the provider's credibility and relationship with the patient, the provider can 'encourage' behavioral change toward greater healthfulness.
